Supermarket madness

Today as we were doing the shopping, I came across one of those WTF items...."freshly" sliced pieces of apples in small packs presented in their own snack size sealed plastic bag....for those people who buy pre-sliced apple may I suggest a new product : How about some pre-digested apples, not only can you do away with the slicing but you also don't have to chew them !

Oh yeah, who *would* buy that and stick them in their lunches to take to work??? Lazy, lazy people, that's who!

Sigh.

*hangs head in shame*

Hey, they're really good, ok? I always seem to find the most mealy, mushy apples, and the pre-sliced ones are always nice and crunchy.

And the ready to eat, non-messy thing makes it easier to eat more healthy snacks (i.e. NOT Hostess Cupcakes).

And lastly....
I'm really really really lazy.
Sigh.

I'd hate to know what process those apples were put through in order to not turn brown and go off....

Most of the apples sold here are nice and crisp....well except for the ones imported from California ! (just joking)

It just gets scarier and scarier doesn't it, the pre-pachagedness of everything in the supermarket.

But that is by far the worst one I've heard of.

Very, very bizarre

Dramalish - you have no knife in the office kitchen? heehee! :)

Max...
If only you knew how I grew up; I didn't eat a lot of foods unless they were processed with some sort of chemical, preservative, or additive.
Although it is bizarre just how long those little buggers stay "fresh." :P

Meg... I must reiterate my last comment:
I am lazy. Very, VERY lazy.

Sigh.

In a related story... I'm going to the supermarket to pick up fruit to make a party tray for DH's birthday. Will I buy the pre-cut fruit????

How's the 2ww coming, Max? Any news to report?
